The Worst Chiropractor Ever

I'm tempted, but I won't name names.

After adjusting a patient this morning, she told me that her daughter was coming in very soon to see me for the first time.  I told her I was happy and looked forward to getting her started with my chiropractic adjustments.  She then told me that her daughter had actually been adjusted before by another local chiropractor and it was not easy for her daughter to make an appointment with me to start up her adjustments again.

My patient took her daughter, who's now in her twenties, to see a chiropractor while the child was still in Kindergarten. When the doctor went over her daughter's x-rays with her, he bluntly said, "People with the kind of spine your daughter has do not live long."

And yes, the six year old kid was right next to her mother when this chiropractor said that.

So for years and years after this report of findings, both mother and daughter were convinced that death would come early for this little girl.  Can you imagine how badly this fear permeated their lives?

You see, my patient all those years ago could not afford the thousands of dollars that the chiropractor wanted upfront so he could fix her daughter's spine.  Can you imagine the guilt my patient lived with all these years?  She expected her daughter would die at a young age because of her lack of money... all because of this guy, the worst chiropractor ever.

Doctors who use x-rays to instill fear in order to get paid are selfish and uncaring, in my book.  This, however, takes things to a whole new low.  Pronouncing a death sentence upon a little girl in the name of chasing that paper is beyond malpractice... it's evil.

"I wish I knew about you and the Honor Box back then," my patient said.

Me, too.

It's a shame to hear stories like this. I was having a conversation with a nurse just the other day, and she had mentioned a similar story.

It's good to see a Doctor of Chiropractic step up and announce the misguided and unethical practices of his colleagues.

I've always admired you for that. Keep up the good work.

Your friend always,

Nice post!
I agree with you that those chiropractor pronouncing a death sentence upon a little girl in the name of chasing that paper is beyond malpractice... it's evil. This is the worst i ever heard about chiropractor. Hope he will never do this again...
