The Art of the Shaka
Went sign waving for Charles Djou this morning.
It was good practice for what I'm going to be doing a lot of in the months ahead.
There is definitely an art to this.
It's one thing to get out there, stand and wave so people driving by can see your face and name. It's an entirely different thing, however, when you try to crank it up to the next level...
Where in that second you have, you actually attempt to make a connection: with a smile, a wave, a honk, a blinking of headlights, a "you da man" finger point, a sign shake, and of course, one perfect shaka-- plenty of communication goes back and forth from roadside to road.
And while the politician cannot deliver a speech on the issues to the drivers rolling by, there's actually a lot that CAN be said. A solid message delivered via the art of the shaka!
