It came out today:
The Honolulu Advertiser's Best of the Best
Somehow, I won.
If you read the entry I posted a while ago about this contest, you know I had some mixed feelings about "campaigning" for this honor. After a few days of asking my patients to place a vote on my behalf, I decided to stop trying to win and let whatever happens happen.
What's so great about this recognition? Is it the publicity that can help my business financially? Is it the validation that tells me my work is appreciated? Is it simply the boost to my ego?
What is it about winning something like this?
Maybe it's this and only this: a confirmation that I am on the right path. This award perhaps serves as an indication, a social proof, that how it is I serve-- right now-- as a chiropractor may have some merit... that the road I am on now is the right one and if I continue to strive, my objectives in the chiropractic facet of my life may come to fruition.
Each day, we should question our motives, examine our actions, seek for the truth about "who we are" in that which we endeavor.
And sometimes, maybe in certain recognitions which we may be fortunate to obtain in this life, a simple affirmation is then revealed to us, "Good job so far. Now press on, regardless."
